Excellerator Fund Evaluation Partnership with Loyola University’s Institute for Racial Justice .The Excellerator Fund partnered with Loyola University’s Institute for Racial Justice (IRJ) to conduct a comprehensive, community-centered evaluation of the Fund’s design, implementation, and impact. Guided by principles of Participatory Action Research, IRJ worked closely with Latinos Progresando and the Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation throughout a 9 month evaluation process. Finalized in 2025, the evaluation serves as a case study in equitable, cross-community grantmaking and offers critical insights for funders, policymakers, and city leaders seeking to invest in Chicago’s Black and Mexican communities.

Grantmaking

Our goal is to raise $10 million to be invested in Chicago’s Black and Mexican leadership by 2025. Equity-driven, community-based grant distribution will simultaneously build Black and Mexican leadership, create mechanisms to grow, share and transfer knowledge, and build shared aspiration and prosperity.
